Emily Cleveland
Emily’s essay showed the committee that she understands the Rotary motto of Service above Self when she wrote:
  • I believe choosing to be selfless each and every day is a conscious and deliberate decision.
and
  • Choosing service above self encompasses far more characteristics than simply selflessness, but rather integrity, character, and leadership.
After reviewing several essays and Scholarship Applications, the committee selected two fine young women to received our two academic scholarships.

Hannah Stolfus
Hannah’s essay struck the committee when she shared 3 things:
  • We can be a leader and serve others above self in many aspects of our lives.
  • Serving others should be about benefiting those served, not about getting recognition for doing the service.
  • Not only does serving better you as a person, but it betters the community as a whole.

The Spring  Blood Drive was a great success. Thanks to all the Rotarians that gave blood.
